When the printing press was invented, its purpose was meant to help copying bibles faster than ever before. But ultimately, it was not a tool for the religious age. It turned against the monks that invented it and marked the end of the religious age. Instead, it enabled a civic society of mass media, democracy, and capitalism.

Similarly to the printing press in the 15th century, the internet was not a new tool for the middle-class society.
