Matter and ownership enter the simulation we call 'life'.

 

A few years ago social theory was solely focusing on linguistics. Society was explained through social relationships. Web 2.0 served as a proof point for the end of the 20th century physical world.

When covid-19 struck and "nature was healing“, we saw the rise of physical borders, shortages of physical resources and web3 tokens. Matter and substance became relevant again. Today, culture and social media are still the main structure of our society. But a new layer was added to them: a layer of substance, matter, and ownership.

→ Whenever Twitter shuts down @therealdonaldtrump, we realize that platforms  not only need to be used, they need to be owned. Whenever an influencer gets rich with Ape NFTs,  we realize the 2020s will be an era of ownership again.
